The search for a missing man east of Perth has come to a tragic end after police discovered his body on Friday.

Travis Hart was last seen on Christmas Day in the vicinity of Bonnie Vale Station railway access line in Mount Burges, Coolgardie.

Police had urgent concerns for the 34-year-old’s welfare after they found his car damaged in what appeared to be a crash, 500km away from Perth.

A search party commenced on Sunday looking for Mr Hart, with local police, SES volunteers, and family members joining the efforts to locate him.

Tragically, police made the grim discovery of Mr Hart’s body on Friday in bushland during their search.

“Please be advised a body believed to be that of Mr Hart has been located within the search area,” a police spokesperson said.

“Inquiries in relation to the circumstances surrounding the death remain ongoing.”
