Bunbury's iconic Highway Hotel is poised to undergo a major refurbishment to coincide with a $7 million development at the site.
Hotel owner Woolworths has already demolished adjoining buildings including the former Tarantino’s restaurant to make way for a Dan Murphy’s bottle shop.
The current BWS drive-through on Strickland Street will also be demolished with the new super store to span 1400 square metres of floorspace.
A Woolworths spokesman said construction will begin in February and the new bottle shop was expected to be operational by August.
