Business leaders in the South West have received a significant boost, with the opening of the Business Leadership Centre.

Located at the Marlston end of Victoria Street, the centre was set up to offer businesses specialised training within the region to help improve efficiency and offer strategic support.

Business consultant Deanna Ward said there was a need for more support for small businesses in the region.

"So we are running business and leadership programs," she said.

"We do more than just training, we help businesses become successful.

"We also provide strategic support to help run businesses."

The centre is an offshoot of Halifax business NARA Training and Assessing, designed to service a niche in the market from a central location.

Business consultant Corina Docking said a lot of South West businesses were sending staff to Perth for training.

"We now provide it down here," she said.

Mrs Ward said they offered personal as well as business coaching.
