Burgundy Diamond Mines has edged closer to cementing its place as a leader in the fancy coloured diamonds market after announcing the launch of its new ultra-luxury diamond brand in Paris.

The WA-based diamond exploration company unveiled its high-end Maison Mazerea brand at Hotel Marois in Paris earlier this month.

It marked the first public appearance of its Grace Diamond — one of the rarest pink diamonds in the world — which was discovered in Rio Tinto’s now-exhausted Argyle diamond mine and then purchased by Burgundy.

Fancy colour natural diamonds produced by Maison Mazerea will be characterised by unique heritage cuts hand-crafted through meticulous cutting and polishing by world-renowned artists, Burgundy said in a statement.

Burgundy acquired facilities for cutting and polishing of rough diamonds in Perth in mid-2021.
