Former Flybuys chief executive John Merakovsky is among the three global brand players who will join the board of Perth-based tech platform Orijin Plus.

Mr Merakovsky will bring 25 years of digital technology and commercialisation experience when he joins as chairman.

He will be joined on the board by Kai Klippel, who has served multiple roles, including CEO of German loyalty giant Payback.

Mr Merakovsky said he was excited by the opportunity Orijin Plus presented to Australian brands looking to directly connect with, market to and reward customers in export markets.

Orijin Plus has also appointed former Airbnb site reliability engineering team founding member Nathan Baxter as chief technology officer.

Orijin Plus was founded by WA brothers James and Rhys Williamson to support exports of their Latitude 28 beef brand to China.

The platform uses blockchain technology to trace a product’s journey through the supply chain.

James said signing the trio was a significant milestone as the platform looks to enter the Singapore market later this year.
