British disco diva Sophie Ellis-Bextor will return to WA in February 2027 as the headline musical act for HSBC SVNS Perth’s two-day rugby sevens fixture.

In her only Australian appearance, the Murder on the Dancefloor singer, 47, is set to lead a sequin-encrusted singalong at HBF Park on Saturday, February 6.

Ellis-Bextor most recently performed in Perth in February of this year, and after the resounding reception she received at Northbridge’s Icecream Factory, is excited to reunite with her local fans.

“I can’t wait to get back to Perth and sing and dance with all of my friends in WA!” she said.

Aussie electronic duo Sneaky Sound System will close entertainment on the Sunday, following an action-packed weekend of sevens featuring the world’s best mens and womens teams.

Both headliners, and several other DJs, will perform at an intimate “boiler room” type precinct dubbed the Party Stand, standing among fans instead of above them.

The 2027 theme of Go Tropical will encourage revellers to refresh at Castaway Club, a DJ-led beach party zone, as well as Palm Paradise, a food and drink oasis shaded by trees and oversized timber palms.

A bevvy of international food options will also be on offer, along with luxury packages for those seeking a more comfortable experience.

Premier Roger Cook anticipated the event would attract visitors from across Australia, and encouraged them to explore the State.

“HSBC SVNS Perth is a highlight of Western Australia’s summer events calendar, bringing world-class sport, music and an incredible atmosphere to the heart of Perth,” Mr Cook said.

“An Australian-exclusive performance from Sophie Ellis-Bextor gives visitors from across the country one more reason to book the trip. We’re encouraging everyone to make a holiday of it: arrive early or stay on, and explore our beaches, Rottnest Island, the Swan Valley and everything else that makes WA the dream state.”
