Retail giants Bunnings Warehouse and Officeworks have joined the iconic Flybuys program just in time for Christmas – meaning shoppers can now pick up rewards points across the entire Wesfarmers stable.

Starting early next month, Flybuys points will be able to be collected at the more than 350 Bunnings Warehouses and 170 Officeworks stores across the country.

Flybuys points can already be earned at 25 retail partners across the country – including Kmart, Target, Coles, Liquorland and Catch.com.au – with those points able to be cashed in for a range of goodies, including holidays and presents.

The program, founded in 1994, usually gives a shopper one point for every $1 spent.

“We’re proud to welcome Bunnings and Officeworks into our coalition of partners,” Flybuys chief executive John Merakovsky said on Tuesday.

“We know that a vast majority of Flybuys members already shop at both retailers, which is an incredibly exciting opportunity for our eight million-plus members to collect more points where they’re already shopping.”

The announcement comes during an already-eventful week for Wesfarmers, with the $70bn retail and industrial conglomerate on Monday announcing it had all but secured the $760m purchase of the Priceline pharmacy network.

The deal for Australian Pharmaceutical Industries is expected to go through early next year.
