Albany surfing veteran Tony Harrison finished third in the over-70 men’s final of the WA Longboard and Logger State Championships, held at Avalon Bay in Mandurah at the weekend.

Small conditions greeted competitors across the three days of action, during which 16 separate State champions were crowned.

Harrison reached the final of the over-70 men’s longboard final but was unable to take the title.

The division had two finals, with the combined scores determining the champion.

Harrison finished in third place with a combined score of 13.9, bettered by runner-up David Robertson (20.8) and winner Bob Monkman (27.67).
