Bulldogs cruise to third win in under-12’s after comfortable win over Mt Barker

Bulldogs cruised to their third win in round five of the Southern District Junior Football Association under-12’s competition last Saturday.

After a narrow loss in round four, the Bulldogs were hungry in the first half and had set up a match-winning 29-point lead at the main change over Mt Barker.

The Bulls peppered the scoreboard but were unable to stick one through the big sticks as the Bulldogs piled on four unanswered goals in the second half, running out 9.8 (62) to 0.9 (9) winners.

The Magpies proved too strong in the first three quarters, keeping their opponents to just one point through the second and third term, as they led 26 points going into the last quarter.

Both sides kicked a major in the last term but the Magpies notched victory, 6.6 (42) to 2.4 (16).

Straight kicking from the Eagles helped them record their second win of the season over Lions.

The Eagles led by nine points at half-time but kicked away in the second half to win 6.4 (40) to 3.7 (25).

In the other match, Swans registered their third win in a thrilling contest with Saints.

Lions maintained their perfect season in the under-14s competition after a come-from-behind win over the Roos.

The Lions trailed by four points heading into the last term but kicked two goals to one to record the 8.3 (51) to 7.6 (48) win.

Saints, Mt Barker and Power also won their matches in the under-14s.
