But COVID did not dampen the enthusiasm of D-grade players on Friday night or Saturday morning.

Of the nine D-grade games to be played on Saturday morning, six went ahead.

In the only D1 division game, Royals Saints 8 got off to a strong start, dominating Kangas 10 in the first quarter to lead by seven goals.

This was largely because of a solid performance by the centre court to get the ball down to the attacking end, allowing the sharp-shooting of Vanessa Jamali-Blair and Sandra Ugle to put points on the board.

Kangas 10 played a very consistent game. winning the last two quarters. but were unable to recover from the strong start by Royals Saints, who finished 20-13 winners.
