Jerramungup Football Club have celebrated two milestones with Andy Solomon and Mark Lester reaching 300 and 200 games respectively on Saturday.

Solomon is a six-time premiership player with the Eagles in the Ongerup Football Association and ran out alongside Lester on the big day as they faced Newdegate at Jerramungup.

In a league career that began in 2001, Solomon played in premierships in 2008-11 and then again in 2013 and 2014 while captaining the club in 2007.

He was the Eagles’ leading goal kicker in 2018 and has also won the Jerramungup Hotel best-and-fairest award on two occasions in 2009 and 2017 to go with his Max & May Carthew best-and-fairest honour in 2017.

Lester reached his 200 games on the same day and it comes after earlier this year fellow veteran Shane Edmonds chalked up his 250th league game for the club.

The Eagles produced a competitive display on their home ground but were unable to come away with their first win of the season going down 11.14 (80) to 7.5 (47).

The Lions notched their fourth win of the season, spoiling the party for the milestone men, as they ran away with a 33-point win.

Arron Russell booted five goals for the winners while Harvey Lynch, Dean Rintoul and Charlie Newman all played well.

The Eagles were best served by Mick Lester, Solomon and Wade Brown (two goals). In the other round 12 league fixture, a Gnowangerup side that were missing State duo Fraser House and Lewis Davis held on for a nine-point win over Boxwood Hill.

The Bulldogs did enough at home to remain unbeaten, as Liam Phillips kicked three goals and Tyler Caldwell added two.

James Dewar, Shane Willmott and Phillips were influential in the 8.6 (54) to 6.9 (45) victory.

Boxwood’s Shane Davy kicked four goals in a losing affair.
