Augusta-Margaret River residents will soon be able to hail an Uber, with the rideshare giant preparing to launch in the region.

While a launch date has not yet been confirmed, Uber is inviting people interested in earning on their own schedule to register their interest as driver partners ahead of the service rolling out.

The move marks another expansion for the company in the South West, adding Margaret River to its existing network in Busselton, Dunsborough and Bunbury, where Uber has operated since 2018.

It also builds on the arrival of Uber Eats in Margaret River in August 2025, giving locals easier access to restaurant meals delivered to their door.

Augusta-Margaret River is one of several regional WA areas tipped to be included in the expansion, with Albany, Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Esperance, Geraldton, Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland also set to get the service.

Uber launched in Australia in 2012.

The Uber app prioritises safety for both drivers and passengers with features including GPS tracking for every journey, sharing trip details with trusted contacts, 24/7 in-app support and more.

More details of the launch for prospective drivers can be found at uber.com/drive.
