Australind man Brett Anthony Cohen charged with alleged possession and distribution of child pornography

A 56-year-old Australind man has fronted court accused of uploading toddlers and young children being molested on social media. Brett Anthony Cohen appeared in Bunbury Magistrate’s Court today where he stood accused of possessing, transmitting and accessing child pornography material through a carriage system. The matters were adjourned for six weeks pending an application for Mr Cohen to obtain legal aid. Mr Cohen was arrested at his home last month during a police raid following a tip from the US National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children. During the police raid, Australian Federal Police and WA Police detectives examined Mr Cohen’s electronic devices and allegedly found child abuse material and messages involving trading and exchange of the content. It was further alleged police found photos and videos of toddlers and young children being abused were found on Mr Cohen’s computer. Mr Cohen is next due to appear on November 29.
