The wait for a baggy green is set to continue for Dunsborough product Lance Morris, who will not be a part of the upcoming Test tour of New Zealand due to injury. The Busselton-born speedster has been ruled out of the two-Test series that starts on February 29 due to a left side strain, with Queenslander Michael Neser coming into the squad in his place. The “Wild Thing” suffered the injury almost immediately after grabbing his first two international wickets in his second one-day international against the West Indies in Canberra last Tuesday. Morris was first called up to the Test squad in 2022 but he has not yet played in a red ball game for Australia. Speaking with reporters after flying home to Perth last Wednesday, he said he was hoping for a quick recovery from the injury. “Obviously a bit bittersweet at the moment,” he said.
