SWFL women‘s: Harvey Bulls continue unbeaten start with 85-point win over Collie, Busselton beat Dunsborough

Harvey Bulls’ women’s outfit continued their unbeaten start to the South West Football League season with a dominant 85-point victory over Collie at Harvey Oval on Sunday. The Bulls showed no mercy against the ninth-placed Eagles, not conceding a score all day while slotting 15 goals themselves to run out 15.5 (95) to 0.0 (0) winners. Larissa Versaci led the way for the Bulls with four goals, while Emma Faulkner, Caitlin Shales and Rachel Wright all chipped in with three majors. Ahead of a bye next weekend, the Bulls sit two wins clear on top of the ladder. * Saturday saw Busselton move one win clear in second spot on the ladder with a 15-point victory over Dunsborough at Bovell Park. The Magpies held the visitors goalless for the first three terms of the game, holding on for a 3.5 (23) to 1.2 (8) win. Fresh off coaching the State country women’s side on Friday night, Rennie Meadmore kicked two goals for the Magpies, with Isabella Hancock and Holly Creedon among the other strong performers. The Sharks won their first five games of the season but have now dropped back to fourth after two consecutive losses. * Saturday’s other fixture saw Donnybrook secure their second win of the season with a 28-point victory over Carey Park at Kelly Park. The Dons were not efficient in front of goal, managing only three majors from their 13 scoring shots, but won 3.10 (28) to 0.0 (0) thanks to a solid defensive performance. Abbey Dawson, Leila Fotu and Tally Neil finished with one goal each for the winners, while Taneika Handley and Lacey Holdsworth continued their good seasons.
