Cultural site boost
The Undalup Association will receive WA Government funding to preserve and promote the Black Point Heritage site.
Through the Preserving our Aboriginal Sites grants program, 13 not-for-profit Aboriginal groups will share in grants totalling $250,000 to protect and preserve registered sites across WA.
The Minister for Aboriginal Affairs Ben Wyatt said the funding would enable Aboriginal people to protect and honour their heritage.
“The McGowan Government is committed to supporting the economic and cultural development of Aboriginal people, and ensuring our stories can be shared and sacred sites are protected,” he said.
“I congratulate all 13 Aboriginal organisations which have identified projects that need protection, restoration and also promotion for wider community appreciation and interest.”
