A significant anniversary will be marked this weekend when eight rugby teams go head-to-head for the West Australian Country Carnival.

In celebration of 25 years since the birth of the Dunsborough-Busselton Dungbeetles, teams from as far as Carnarvon will fight for the cup.

The Dungbeetles will put their rivalry aside to combine with the Margaret River Gropers to represent the region as the South West Barbarians.

Other teams making the journey to Busselton for Sunday’s competition include the Kalgoorlie Stormers and Bushwhackers, the WA Police, WA Navy, Geraldton Sharks and Carnarvon.

WA Police and WA Navy are also set to combine, as well as the Geraldton Sharks and Carnarvon.
