Free exhibition offer for local artists

The City of Busselton through the ArtGeo Gallery has devised an unprecedented exhibition strategy for regional artists.

The COVID-19 pandemic has decimated the arts industry and to help local artists, the City is offering to hold solo or small group exhibitions at the ArtGeo Gallery for free.

Regional artists are invited to apply for the available exhibition times, which include June 27 to July 27, August 1 to August 30, September 5 to October 4 and October 10 to November 8.

ArtGeo Gallery curator Sharon Williams said over the next six months the City’s cultural precinct would become a hub for positive growth in the arts scene.

“We don’t know what the future will bring the artists of the region with many exhibitions and open studio opportunities being cancelled. However, the arts are intrinsic to the South West and the gallery would like to offer as much support to artists as possible,” she said.

“As such, we have opened up our exhibition schedule for the next six months to offer four exhibition timeslots for free and culminate with the bigger re-imagined City of Busselton Art Award.”
