Coronavirus crisis: Premier Mark McGowan to outline phase three of COVID response

The West Australian
VideoPremier Mark McGowan has unveiled the State’s Phase Three restrictions, which include the re-opening of gyms, beauticians and playgrounds and significant increase in the maximum number of people that can attend restaurants, pubs and cafes.

After a tumultuous few days in the wake of the Al Kuwait coronavirus outbreak, Mark McGowan will today outline “Phase 3 of the WA roadmap”.

The Premier will be joined by Health Minister Roger Cook, Police Commissioner Chris Dawson and Chief Health Officer Dr Andrew Robertson to provide an update on the latest in WA’s fight against COVID-19.

It comes as regional travel bans — except in the Kimberley and some remote areas — are lifted in time for the WA Day long weekend and calls for Mark McGowan to lift state borders.

It also follows a day when WA notched seven new cases of COVID-19. Included in that tally was another six crew members from the Al Kuwait live export ship.

The Premier is set to speak from 12.15pm, however that is subject to delays.
