Perth small business owner and sports travel agent Justin Poor says he’s lost at least $400,000 in turnover since the start of the COVID-19 crisis.

Speaking to The West Live host Jenna Clarke from 8.45am, Mr Poor says he will be calling on the Government to start taking the concerns of businesses more seriously, as they continue to grapple with the COVID-19 after effects.

Mr Poor says the pandemic has hit his family twice as hard because his children, who are professional athletes, can no loner compete. Two of his daughters are in the Australian water polo team, while his son is the first Aussie born quarter-back currently on a college scholarship in the US.

Also on the show, Director of Policy at the Institute of Public Affairs Gideon Rozner — who has heavily criticised the Victorian Government’s handling of COVID — will give some more insight into the latest on the Melbourne outbreak.

"Every major source of outbreak causing this ‘second wave’ is a direct result of the Andrews government’s incompetence, negligence or just plain stupidity," he tweeted overnight.

Jenna and Mr Rozner will also compare the Victorian and West Australian pandemic responses and approach.

Later in the show, The West Australian's crime editor and West Australian chief reporter Ben Harvey will join WA Police Sergeant Mick Slaughter to discuss and debrief the latest crime news.

After 9am, The West Australian's Inside Cover editor Ben O'Shea will join the show to share some quirky stories from across the State.
