A doctor in the State’s South West has been charged with more than a dozen child sex offences. Child abuse squad detectives charged the 60-year-old man with 19 offences against children as a result of an ongoing investigation into his alleged offending. The man works as a general practitioner in the South West district, police have confirmed. It will be alleged the man committed the offences between November 2019 and March 2022 against two girls aged between 13 and 16. “The offences were allegedly committed within the South West and Mandurah police districts,” police said in a statement. “It will be further alleged the offences were committed against two female victims.” Among the 19 charges the 60-year-old man is facing are 10 counts of sexually penetrated a child, six counts of indecently deals with a child and one count of possessing child exploitation material. He is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
