Police are investigating a suspicious fire that destroyed a car and caused about $20,000 worth of damage to a home in Alexander Heights on Friday.
About 11.55pm, emergency services were called out to the residence on Northumberland Avenue after a white Toyota Corolla parked in the driveway caught fire.
Police said the fire spread from the vehicle to the roof of the house.
Firefighters attended and extinguished the fire before significant damage was caused to the home.
The Toyota Corolla was destroyed in the blaze, and a second vehicle parked nearby sustained minor damage.

Police estimate the fire caused about $20,000 worth of damage.
Arson squad detectives are seeking the public’s assistance to identify a person who was seen in the area around the time of the fire.
Home security footage captureed the person, who was wearing a hoodie and carrying a backpack, lurking around the driveway of the property before the fire started.
The person was last seen on Greenpark Road, walking towards Alexander Drive.

Detectives are still investigating the cause of the fire.

Rewards of up to $25,000 may be available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
