The hunt for a fugitive wanted over a ‘serious matter’ has intensified as police continue their efforts to find him.

He continues to remain at large in the community.

Leslie Philip Woods is being hunted by officers from the special crime squad, the serious crime and family violence unit and the rapid apprehension squad.

A police spokesman said the 44-year-old is wanted “concerning an arrest warrant for serious matters”.

Police believe Mr Woods was last seen in the Beechboro area earlier on Thursday.

Mr Woods is about 170cm tall, of solid build, with short brown hair.

Members of the public are urged not to approach him but to contact police immediately on 131 444.
