Detectives have raided a home as the investigation intensifies into a woman whose body was dumped outside an apartment complex in Joondalup.
The woman’s body was discovered outside the Arthouse apartments on Grand Boulevard on Wednesday morning after reports a man had left her there before disappearing.
A major police operation swarmed the area after the alarm was raised by St John WA paramedics.
Police later seized an ambulance for forensic examination as detectives hunted for clues into the woman’s death.
On Thursday, investigators confirmed a home had been raided as part of the ongoing probe.
Police also revealed that a 35-year-old man from Merriwa had been charged with a string of unrelated offences after being taken into custody on Wednesday afternoon.
He has been charged with possessing controlled or prescription drugs, possessing a controlled weapon, possessing certain substances, possessing a prohibited drug, possessing drug paraphernalia and having no authority to drive.
No charges have been laid over the woman’s death.
The man remains in custody and is due to face Joondalup Magistrates Court on Thursday.
The coronial investigation unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
Police are yet to publicly identify the woman or reveal how she died.
Residents described seeing a major police operation outside the apartments, with sections of the carpark taped off and officers seizing CCTV from nearby businesses.
One resident said about 30 officers swarmed the area during the investigation.
