A ride-share driver has been accused of raping and indecently assaulting a young woman in Perth’s south two weeks ago.

Sex assault squad detectives say the 37-year-old man picked up the woman in her 20s from a location in Mandurah about 1.15am on Sunday February 28.

It is alleged that during the journey the driver sexually assaulted her.

He has been charged with one count each of unlawful and indecent assault and sexual penetration without consent.

Police have notified the relevant ride-share companies and the Department of Transport of the arrest.
