Elderly man critical in Royal Perth after crash near Crooked Carrot on Forrest Highway, Myalup

An elderly man is in a critical condition after a horror crash near an iconic South West business. The man, aged in his 70s, was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital after the collision at the intersection of Forrest Highway and Rigg Road in Myalup - near popular highway pit-stop the Crooked Carrot. The crash happened about 3.15pm, when a white Mitsubishi Triton, being driven west on Rigg Road by the man, collided with a red Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. The impact caused the Triton to veer across the median island before returning to the original side of the highway and then crashing into a tree. The man remained in hospital in critical condition last night. His 69-year-old female passenger was conveyed by ambulance to Bunbury Hospital in a stable condition, as was the 55-year-old woman driver of the Eclipse Cross. Police are also calling for anyone with information to contact them on 1800 333 000.
