Motorcycle rider taken to hospital after Coolbellup crash that saw him receive CPR on the road
A 53-year-old motorcycle rider has been taken to Fiona Stanley hospital in a critical condition after colliding with a car in Perth’s southern suburbs.
A witness said they saw the other motorist performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using a defibrillator on the man as he lay motionless on North Lake Road in Coolbellup.
The crash happened just before 7:30pm between a white Hyundai sedan and Moto Guzzi motorbike.
“We were just sitting in the house and we heard some revving...and then heard a big smash,” the witness told The West Australian.

READ NOW“Then we realised something severe had happened.
“We went outside — saw the man on the road with his motorbike to the side.”
The witness, who did not want to be named, said the other motorist blocked off parts of North Lake Road and Winterfold Road for about 10 minutes before emergency services arrived.
“It was pretty hectic,” he said.
“He (the motorcyclist) definitely wasn’t moving at all.”
A 29-year-old is assisting police with their inquiries into the crash.
