A man has died after his car hit a tree in Williams in what has been a horror run on WA’s roads after four people lost their lives over the past five days.

Police said the crash happened about 4.20 pm on Thursday , when a dark coloured Holden Sedan was driving South West on the Williams-Collie Road, towards Collie.

It is understood the 51-year-old driver lost control of the car and it veered off the road and ploughed into a tree just outside the Williams townsite.

The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.
