Brunswick’s farm girl turns to fashion

Who ever said girls had to choose between farming and fashion?

Sienna Deane grew up on her family’s farm in Brunswick and decided to pursue her love of high-end fashion and all things frilly.

One minute I would be dressed in my designer clothing and the next I would be riding motorbikes through the mud.

However, the 21-year-old said she would always be a “farm girl at heart”.

The fashion design student said she loved the creative element involved in designing clothes and was interested in learning more about the manufacturing and distribution processes in the industry.

She won an award in January for her work with Camilla, Australia’s leading bohemian luxury fashion label and took part in modelling opportunities and photo shoots with the brand.

The young fashion lover was also nominated for an Employee of the Year award after winning several customer service awards in Bunbury.

Miss Deane was selected to travel to Sydney last year for a once-in-a-life-time internship with Camilla, where she created mood boards and helped design future clothing collections, set to be released by the label.

However, she is not the only one in her family with a creative side, with her mother Andrea owning Dre’s Boutique in Bunbury.

“From a young age I remember playing dress-ups and walking on tables in the house pretending they were runways,” Miss Deane said.

“I love fashion because I can express myself through the way that I dress — yes I can be a bit out-there, but that suits me to a tee.”

The aspiring fashion designer said she hoped to one day have her own fashion label.
