The wonder of SW waterways on the big screen

South Western Times

The wonder of WA’s freshwater fauna will be brought to life in a roadshow devised by Murdoch University researchers, the South East Regional Centre for Urban Landcare, local filmmakers and Noongar elder Joseph Northover.

The roadshow will at the Bunbury City Council’s function room on September 15 from 6pm where three five-minute films on the underwater fauna of South West rivers will be screened.

The project has been funded by a grant from Lotterywest and has already visited Cannington, Chittering and Mandurah.

‘‘Our main aim with the roadshow is to raise public awareness about often unseen yet ecologically important aquatic animals that are found in our waterways,’’ freshwater mussels expert Michael Klunzinger said.

Those interested in attending the roadshow can contact Amy Crouper on 0407 427 054.
