Lotto: Perth workmates strike $1.2m Saturday Lotto win after three years of weekly tickets

A weekly Lotto ritual has paid off in spectacular fashion for a group of Mirrabooka workmates who have shared a $1.2 million windfall.
The group’s Saturday Slikpik 30 ticket, bought at Mirrabooka Millions, scopped the loot after more than three years of playing together.
One member discovered the life-changing win while checking the numbers and quickly raised the alarm.
“I couldn’t believe it,” they said. “I kept thinking, ‘Am I reading this properly?’
“I called my colleague and told them they needed to check our ticket as soon as possible!”
At first, the group believed they had scored a far smaller prize.
“I thought we’d won maybe $10,000 — I would have been happy with $1000!” the ticketholder said.
The reality only sank in when they returned to the store to confirm the ticket.
“They told us to keep it safe until we got to the Lotterywest Winners Room — it was great we could share the experience together.”
The lucky syndicate is planning a celebratory luxury dinner, with talk already turning to new cars, holidays and spoiling family members.
Lotterywest spokeswoman Zoe Wender said the win marked the second division one ticket sold by Mirrabooka Millions this year.
“It’s always wonderful when a division one win is shared by a group of players,” she said.
Saturday’s $20 million Superdraw offers another chance to become a millionaire.
