One ticket holder has just claimed the third biggest lottery win in Australian history after scooping up the entire $100 million Powerball jackpot.
Australians will be racing to check their tickets from the highly anticipated draw to see if they are the lucky one to scoop up the division one prize.
Thursday’s draw was the biggest for 2026 and thousands of Aussies will be holding their breath to see if they have to rock up to work tomorrow.
While the winning ticket was sold in New South Wales, one Sandgroper has claimed a generous $172,306.45 from the division two prize pool. While a further 35 West Aussies won $13,749.40 from division three.
The life-changing numbers from draw #1587 were 14, 24, 15, 3, 27, 32, 30 and the mighty Powerball was 16.
It marked the first time that the Powerball reached the nine digit mark since June 2025, and it is just the 13th time in the game’s 30-year history.
A flurry of punters raced to get their ticket at the last minute, with expected peak of sales hitting between 4pm-5pm on Thursday ahead of the 6pm draw.
