A 28 year-old Maylands man has drowned at Salmon Beach, 60 km south of Pemberton.

Police said that about 11am yesterday the man went for a swim.

He was located unconscious in the water by his girlfriend and was unable to be resuscitated after being pulled from the water.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner and the death has been deemed non-suspicious.
