Manjimup Senior High School, South Regional TAFE’s Manjimup campus and Manjimup Primary School were targeted by vandals on June 6.

Several of the high school’s technical building’s windows and doors were smashed, while at the TAFE campus a window was smashed and an air-conditioner unit was ripped from the wall.

A spokeswoman for South Regional TAFE said the damage incurred was in excess of $3000.

Manjimup Primary School principal Damian Lloyd said a brick was thrown through the window of the office — damaging a desk and computer — damage he says will run into the thousands of dollars.

School principal Kerry Mather said there was no excuse for vandalism.

“We are disappointed at the lack of respect shown for government property,” she said.

“This type of vandalism and burglary has a negative effect on students and staff and wastes resources that could be utilised to advance education.”

Manjimup police are being assisted by CCTV in their inquiries.
