Mullewa fours, Geraldton ladies’ champs wrap up as Batavia Bowls League season rolls on

The Mullewa men’s championship fours have wrapped up in Batavia Bowls League club news, while there was strong competition as Geraldton’s ladies’ championship ended.

In Mullewa, five teams competed in the five-game round robin on a perfect day for the synthetic.John Peet, Colin Johnson, Demetrious Christoforou and Joe McHardy won the title ahead of Vince Knight, Lloyd Morgan, Nino Messina and John Shagan. The Geraldton ladies’ championship went to the quartet of Audrey Williamson, Fay Sudilowski, Annette Foster and Phyllis Hayward last Tuesday in an entertaining finale over defending champions Norma Follington, Fiona Panting, Barbara Grieve and Mary Perry. Dion Delamotte, Eva Watson, Karen Drage and Heather Chaplin won Northampton’s club fours to claim back-to-back titles.

The talented foursome appear on target for a strong campaign in the league’s champion of champions at Wonthella in November. Dion Delamotte, Pauline Forrester, Barbara Grieve and Angie Stagg took the win at the annual Rigters Quadripartite at Geraldton last Friday — six points plus 24 shots to six points plus 23.
