Police are urgently seeking the community’s assistance to find an 81-year-old woman who has not been seen since the early hours of Thursday.

Seija Kaarina Murphy was last seen about 3.30am in the vicinity of Waterloo Street in Joondanna.

She is described as being of slim build with fair skin and grey-white hair.

She was last seen wearing light grey chequered slacks and a light brown jersey.

Residents in the area have been urged to check their backyards, sheds and garages, as well as any nearby vacant blocks or thoroughfares.

Anyone who sees Ms Murphy or has any information regarding her whereabouts is urged to call police immediately on 131 444.
