Mixed results for Upper Great Southern Hockey Association at the Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships

The Upper Great Southern Hockey Association sent three teams to play in the Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships during school holidays.

The 7/8 boys played in B-grade and they had one win and two losses to place them third in their pool.

They then defeated Southern River 3-0 to put them in the play-off for fifth and sixth.

In a great game of hockey against Westside Wolves the boys won their match 3-2 to finish fifth overall.

The 9/10 boys also played in B-grade the following week, winning two out of their qualifying matches to help them come second in their pool.

In the crossover they played Uni and had a 2-all draw.

However, under competition rules they got to play off for third and fourth.

In an awesome game of hockey the boys had to work hard against Eastern Goldfields who never gave up, and Uppers finished the competition off in style winning 4-2 to come third.

The 9/10 girls played in A-grade, losing three games while drawing their other fixture to finish their pool in fifth.

They played Collie in their final game and gave it their best to score a great 4-1 win, leaving them ninth overall in A-grade.

UGSHA thanked all the volunteers and parents who supported all these players at the championships.
