Ladder leaders Williams 1 bounced back from last week’s loss to Cuballing with a commanding 68-39 victory over Olympic Gold in round eight of the Narrogin and Districts Netball Association on Saturday.

Both teams brought phenomenal fill-in shooters, setting the stage for a fiercely competitive game.

Georgie Dawes and Amy Lubcke from Williams were unstoppable, showcasing accurate shooting that ensured Williams maintained a steady lead throughout the game.

The duo formed a formidable offensive force, coupled with Elizabeth Fowler and Sophie Longmire’s precision feeding from the centre court.

Libby Hidler, the standout shooter for Olympics, kept the margin to a minimum with her consistent scoring, keeping her team in contention throughout the first half.

Her efforts were bolstered by her teammate Claire Conlan, whose towering presence and rebounding prowess ensured that no rebound went uncontested.

Lee and Claire Conlan, the mother-daughter duo showcased their dynamic versatility on the court, playing both solid defence and attack.

However, their efforts were not enough to secure a victory for the team.

The game took a decisive turn when Jaimee Medlen was injected into the game at halftime.

Medlen’s defensive pressure was unstoppable, resulting in multiple turnovers that allowed Williams to dominate the second half.

Her efforts teamed with the strong defensive play of Abbey McKay and Em Liddelow, created a formidable barrier.

The relentless trio extended the margin out to 29 goals by full-time.

Williams needed to bounce back this weekend after their narrow 2-goal loss to Cuballing last week.

Despite the setback, they remain at the top of the ladder heading into round nine, as they aim to defend their title and secure back-to-back premierships.
