A car crash on a busy road in Perth’s north has resulted in the loss of power to 431 homes on Tuesday morning..

Two cars collided about 5.25am on the corner of Erindale and Balcatta roads in Balcatta.

It is understood the crash, in which no one was seriously injured, resulted in a loss of power in the surrounding area.

Western Power said 431 homes, meaning thousands of customers, had been affected in Stirling, Gwelup and Balcatta.

“Unplanned outages are an interruption to the transmission or distribution of electricity that is unscheduled,” the alert reads.

“We endeavour to resolve issues and minimise impact as soon as we can.”

The Western Power website estimated the outages would be fixed by 9.30am.
