A home in Perth’s south has been destroyed after a fire took hold of it just before midnight.

The three-bedroom home on Farrier Lane in White Gum Valley, near Fremantle, went up in flames at about 11.30pm Sunday and when firefighters arrived, fire had taken over.

It’s understood the owner left in time and was sheltering in a neighbour’s home while emergency crews worked to extinguish her home.

The home was significantly damaged, with the roof collapsing after being burnt out in the inferno.
