Karijini Experience

The 2026 Karijini Experience is set to deliver a four-day celebration of culture, music and community in one of Western Australia’s most spectacular landscapes.
Held on Banjima country in Karijini National Park from April 10 to 13, the annual event connects visitors with the Banjima Homeland through a rich and inclusive program of authentic arts and cultural activities.
This year’s program features an all-Aboriginal music line-up, headlined by acclaimed Australian artist Jessica Mauboy.

She will be joined by a diverse group of performers including South Summit, Mitch Tambo, Nathan Lamont, Family Shoveller Band, Koy Smith and Boox Kid.
As well as the music program, festival-goers will be able to take part in a range of cultural activities, conversations and performances.
Highlights include Opera by the Gorge featuring Georgina Powell, as well as a special yarn with former Fremantle Dockers player Michael Walters and Noongar boxer Alex Winwood.

Mitch Tambo, known for his work as a didgeridoo player, dancer, singer and author, will also host storytelling sessions and creative workshops during the festival.
What sets the Karijini Experience apart is its breathtaking natural setting combined with a strong commitment to sharing authentic Aboriginal cultural content.
Surrounded by dramatic gorges and ancient landscapes of the Pilbara, it offers visitors the opportunity to engage with culture, stories and traditions that are deeply connected to the land.
The event is owned by the Banjima Native Title Aboriginal Corporation (BNTAC), which represents the Banjima people.
Since taking ownership, BNTAC has focused on ensuring the event celebrates and shares Banjima culture, highlighting the community’s deep and unique connection to Country.
