Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s senior community, their carers and families will be once again having a one-stop-shop for resources next week.

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s Living Life Well Seniors Expo provides locals with an opportunity to connect with service providers in one place.

After positive feedback from residents and service providers from last year’s event, the expo is back again to showcase various services and give seniors the opportunity to obtain a range of information and resources from local, State, and national organisations and providers.

In addition to a range of stall holders, the one-stop-shop-style event will also feature live entertainment and refreshments throughout the day, as well as a free barbecue lunch and an ice-cream van.

Kalgoorlie-Boulder Mayor Glenn Wilson said he was proud of what the city had achieved as part of the Aged Friendly Strategy and its ongoing commitment to improving services for senior residents.

“From our twice weekly in-centre meals to our expanded suite of programs and activities at the Eastern Goldfields Community Centre, we’re really proud of the progress made over the last two years,” he said.

“With the support of our Seniors Focus Group, we are continuously listening to feedback from our senior residents.

“The Seniors Expo is just one example of how we are working with service providers to ensure information and resources are not only easily accessible but also explained.

“Sometimes it makes all the difference to have the opportunity to speak to someone in person and have all your questions answered. That’s why we’ve worked to expand the range of service providers this year.”

The 2024 Living Life Well Seniors Expo will be on Tuesday from 9am to 3pm at the Eastern Goldfields Community Centre.
