A 68-year-old truck driver has died in a crash near the WA border.

Police received reports of a truck rollover on the Eyre Highway, about 5km east of the WA border, about 4.30pm yesterday.

The driver, who is from WA, died at the scene.

Police officers from both SA and WA assisted at the crash site, with major crash investigators from SA flying to the scene last night to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

SA Police reported that the Eyre Highway was blocked in both directions in the aftermath of the crash but reopened this morning.
