Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have removed their two children from their new UK school just two days after they began attending as concerns surround the family’s security arrangements.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are understood to have reconsidered the schooling arrangements for Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, after discussions with their private security team. Hello Magazine reports.

The children’s school, believed to be located in the Cotswolds, reportedly did not provide the practical security arrangements considered necessary to protect them.

British broadcaster ITV reported that the couple had decided the children would begin “somewhere new” following discussions with their security team.

The children are expected to attend another school in the area after visiting for a taster session on Monday.

Prince Harry was reportedly seen helping Lilibet into reception, while the family had already been added to parent WhatsAppp groups at the new school.

According to a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess, the move is not reflective of any criticism of the school and its staff.

“The decision for the children to move school was taken following a discussion with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements,” they told Hello magazine.

“The parents remain extremely grateful to all the teachers and staff for the love, care and effort they have shown their family.

“This decision should in no way be interpreted as a reflection on the school or the exceptional care the children have received there.”

A friend of the couple said the Sussexes didn’t take the decision lightly.

“It’s a real shame, because they absolutely adored the school, the kids and their parents. It was perfect for them in every way and the children really enjoyed their time there,” they told the outlet.

“They really wanted to make it work, but they had to make a difficult decision based on the fact that the team couldn’t make the school run operationally secure.”

The school change comes as the Sussexes face a fresh review of their security arrangements by the Home Office VIP security committee.

The couple arrived in Britain on August 26, six years after they stepped down from royal duties and relocated to the United States.

Since their UK return, security has remained one of Prince Harry’s most contentious issues.

The Duke has been involved in a prolonged dispute with the Home Office over the decision to remove his automatic police protection after he ceased to be a working royal.

Prince Harry has continued to argue that adequate protection is necessary when he and his family visit Britain.

He recently wrote to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood as part of his efforts to secure tax-payer funded security during their time in the country.
