Limestone Coast Brewing plan to sell takeaways of its beers at Baldivis venue

Lovers of craft beer may soon no longer have to travel to Malaga for a takeaway of their favourite drop.

Limestone Coast Brewing wants to expand the number of people it can serve at its Baldivis venue and to be able have takeaway sales of its beers.

The venue was formerly known as Steel Tree before it became a kitchen and tap room for Limestone Coast Brewing.

The business at Settlers Hills Village Centre will keep its existing food and beverage offerings but wants to increase patron numbers from 120 to 180 and be able to offer takeaway sales of alcoholic beverages produced offsite by Limestone Coast Brewing.

“Takeaway keg fills are already requested by Baldivis residents who currently travel to Malaga,” managing director Geoff Munday said in the application to the City of Rockingham.

A new bar and upgraded flooring and furniture have been installed, and a new coolroom and two takeaway fridges are planned.

General bottleshop sales are not proposed. Trading hours will remain 8am to 10pm Mondays to Sundays.

The venue regularly hosts live music, acoustic sessions and other entertainment nights.

Limestone Coast Brewing’s operations currently include a brewing hub and three craft brewhouse venues, with another one in construction phase. There are five more venues in various planning stages.

Public submissions on the proposal close at 4.30pm on Friday, August 7.
