Basketball women's: Tornadoes Black continue dominance on top of the ladder as Eaton Eagles forced to forfeit

TORNADOES BLACK DEFEATED ACES SKY 81 -50 Tornadoes Black continued their steak at the top of the Bunbury Senior Basketball League ladder after defeating Aces Sky 81-50 at the South West Sports Centre on Tuesday night. me started off close, with the margin only being four points at quarter time. Trailing by just four points at the first break, Aces Sky kept Tornadoes Black relatively close and by three-quarter time the margin was just 12 points thanks to some great shooting by Isabella Wilmot. The final quarter however was all Tornadoes Black, compiling 23 points in the final stretch, limiting Aces Sky to just four points for the quarter. Highlight for Tornadoes Black was a stellar Tiahna Sears who scored 35 points, 10 of those in the final quarter, stretching her lead as the league’s top-scorer. Tornadoes Black sit on top of the ladder with only one loss this season and will face Eaton Eagles on Friday night. TORNADOES RED DEFEATED CONQUERORS 98-60 Tornadoes Red accounted for Conquerors 98-60 in a dominant showing on Tuesday night. Tornadoes Red led from the get-go, and had established a seven-point lead by quarter time. However the second quarter is where Conquerors struggled to keep up, and some dominant scoring, including a three-pointer from Charlotte Mills, saw Tornadoes Red’s lead extend to 21 points at half-time. Conquerors were up against the odds from there, with the final margin stretching to 38 points despite some last-second scoring. Former Dunsborough Oiler Adele East starred for Tornadoes Red with 32 points. Tornadoes Red now only sit two wins behind top-of-the-ladder Tornadoes Black and will face off against Aces Sky on Friday night. Conquerors remain winless and will face Aces Navy next. ACES NAVY DEFEATED EATON EAGLES ON A FORFEIT 20-0 Eaton Eagles were forced to forfeit in their first game back from the festive break, awarding Aces Navy a 20-0 win. Aces Navy now sit third on the ladder with Eaton Eagles dropping to fifth. Eaton’s next challenge see them face top-team Tornadoes Black on Friday night, while Ace’s Navy take on Conquerors.
