A multi-million dollar project to transform Koombana Bay foreshore is set to start after Bunbury City Council gave plans the tick of approval.

The council last night endorsed designs from Ertech Holdings – the same company which upgraded Koombana Drive – to transform the area at a cost of $10.8 million.

The project which includes an impressive new footbridge over The Plug, upgrades to the kiosk and an amphitheatre is due to be complete by December this year.

The work is part of the Stage one of the Transforming Bunbury’s Waterfront project, a joint effort between the council and South West Development Commission and funded through the State Government’s Royalties For Regions Growing Our South Initiative.

Work is expected to begin after Easter.
