Big bands and all that jazz

More than 400 musicians will hit the stage in Bunbury this weekend for the prestigious Queens Cup.

Bunbury Catholic College will host the performances from 6pm tomorrow to Sunday across a number of categories and sessions.

There will be big bands and instrumental solo, duo and trio categories with competitors from as far away as Albany in the running.

Newton Moore Senior High School hosted last year’s event and BCC College community liaison officer Jacqui Granger said the school community was excited to welcome participants.

“It is a great honour to host and we are looking forward to some great competition and wonderful friendships forming over the weekend,” Mrs Granger said.

The first performances will be at 6pm today.
