Galvanised by their courageous two-wicket win over Leschenault last week, Marist will aim to keep the momentum rolling against Eaton at the Eaton Sports Ground on Saturday.

Perched in a precarious position at 4-81, Jaxon Cornford came to the party with a fantastic knock of 59 from 99 balls, which helped get his side home in thrilling circumstances.

Things were starkly different for the Beavers, who were awarded victory against bitter rivals Colts following the reigning premiers being docked two overs for a slow over rate post-match.

This win has proved telling for Eaton, however, as they now sit only two points behind fourth-placed Hay Park.

With Hay Park facing a challenging trip to Leschenault Recreation Reserve against the league leading Green Caps, Clint Hewson and his men will eye this ideal opportunity to make a statement against the Blues.

This will be easier said than done, as the Blues bowling attack has been in good form, with veteran Alan Utterson leading the charge.

Utterson, who bagged 4-39 off 17 overs, triggered a 6-9 Green Caps collapse, which well and truly put his side on top.

The Redbacks, who have not taken to the field since their T20 grand final loss on December 21, will need to construct a complete batting perspective, irrespective of if they bat first. Both 60-over matches begin at 10.30am.
