Bunbury's favourite statesman dies

Bunbury statesman Dr Ern Manea died in his sleep at 3.30am this morning, October 16, aged 86, leaving behind a legacy of community service to local government, sporting and community groups.

Dr Manea was the city’s longest serving mayor and a GP for more than 60 years who delivered more than 3500 babies.

He is survived by his wife Snookie, sons Mark and Denis Manea, Sydney Jackson and five grandchildren.
